Where Hockey Coach Hub is stronger for hockey
- Tryouts are one week of the season. Hockey Coach Hub also covers the other six months: player goals, check-ins, challenges, and game stats, all on one player record.
- Every player ends the season with honest feedback built from their own goals and evaluations, not just a score sheet.
- Flat pricing: $499 a season covers up to 300 players across every team, roughly a third of SkillShark’s entry plan at that size.
Common questions
Is Hockey Coach Hub or SkillShark better for hockey tryouts?
Both grade tryouts live from a phone. SkillShark is stronger if you run tryouts for several sports or need drafting tools. Hockey Coach Hub is built only for hockey, uses a jersey-number grid with one tap per rep, gives evaluators a no-login link, and keeps the same player record going after tryouts end.
How much does SkillShark cost for a hockey association?
SkillShark charges per athlete per year in blocks of 25: $5 on Rookie, $10 on All-Star, and $15 on Legend. For a 300-player association that is $1,500 to $4,500 a year. Hockey Coach Hub’s Organization plan is $499 per season for up to 300 players, or $999 for unlimited.
Does SkillShark track player development after tryouts?
SkillShark’s All-Star and Legend plans include progress and comparison reports across evaluation events. Hockey Coach Hub tracks development all season: players set their own goals, coaches add check-ins and mid-season evals, and game sheet stats load from uploaded PDFs.
